Four of us just got back from the most exciting bow hunt we've ever had. We bagged nine hogs in two days of pure excitement. Merle and Vanessa put on a first class hunt and do everything thing they can to make you feel welcome. If you want to put a spark back in your bowhunting, visit the Texas S. This is a must for your bowhunting experience. Robert Nelsen, Kansas

The group I went down with from six gold archery in DeSoto Missouri Took 12 hogs in two days and had a great time. One of our members was my little brother who is 13 years old. He killed two pigs in two days and killed both hogs with the same arrow and broadhead! We really had a great time I am going twice this year.deroussenoah@aol.com ps. Merle and Vennessa are the best!!

We hunted at the Texas-S yesterday. It was a great hunt! Merle makes you feel as if you have known him forever and is a real pleasure to be around. The ranch is super! Lots of game, and something for everyone. I recommend them 100 percent! Look for the story coming out in The Real Hunters Journal. Kris Jones bowtec@valliant.net

We had a blast on a one day hunt my daughter and son in law went, we got five hogs and look forword to next year. My daughter got some fine pics. of all kinds of game, at one time I thought reporters was with us.lol. We saw hogs five mins after we got in the woods. Merle is a great host and he has the hogs. I bet we saw 150 hogs on that day, of every size.It is a good place to start a new bow hunter out and to brush up on ones stalking skills. So if you are looking for a place to go and hunt and have alot of fun try it out you will be glad you did. Merle and Vanessa thanks for a great place to hunt and we will be back. I arrived home last night about 11:00pm from our Hog Hunt at the Texas S Ranch in Clarksville, TX. It was the most awesome time I have ever had hunting hogs. I left the cabin at 7:00am on Thursday morning with bow in hand, clad in camo rainsuit, and wondering what in the world I was doing out here. Three of us entered the gate walked 300 yards and there we saw our first herd of hogs. We stalked them for about an hour and then changed tatics. We decided to still hunt underneath a group scrub oaks that had good hog sign. It proved to be a great decision for me. The three of us were spread about 50 yards apart watching no less than 25 hogs feed past us. Brain decided to make his way to a tree stand not too far away while me and Jeff watched two more black hogs make their way up towards us from the creek botton. They were both too small. As these two hogs were feeding away from us a larger hog came up out of the bottom. He was a good sized spotted hog. I began to work my way down towards him as he had his head down rooting under some more scrub oaks. I then crouched down on both knees in the gumbo clay mud and waited for him to present a shot. He was 26 steps away from me when he turned towards me with a quartering shot. I took careful aim, launched my 125 grain broadhead, and watched the arrow bury deep into him just in front of the right shoulder. He bolted like a scolded dog for 17 steps and crashed...deader than a hammer. He was a nice boar that weighed in at 140lbs. If anyone out there is considering hunting the Texas S you better get it together and get on out there. There were three in our group and we shot six hogs. I shot a 140lb and a 230lb hog. Jeff shot a 105lb and I think a 160lb hog. Brain shot a 100lb and a 185lb hog. Hey folks it rained for two days and the hogs moved like crazy. You gotta go. Hey Merle and Jim...all I got say is...You guys are da Man! Thanks for a great time. Reverend Mark A. Henson AKA "the preacherman"

A group from our area is coming to hunt with you this weekend (12/12/03). One of them is my husband. This is the only thing he has ever talked and bragged about, this much. Please take care of them all.
